About Us
PAWS of Southwest has been recognized by the ANC-6D leadership, Southwest Neighborhood Assembly, and the District of Columbia Department of Parks & Recreation as the lead champion for an off-leash dog park in southwest Washington, DC. PAWS of Southwest was founded to build and maintain an off-leash dog park at Lansburgh Park, located on Delaware Ave., between M Street and I Street, SW so dog owners and neighbors can enjoy the companionship of one another in a safe, outdoor setting.
PAWS of Southwest also supports responsible dog ownership, healthy and well-trained dogs, along with fun and educational community events.
PAWS of Southwest is a fiduciary subsidiary of the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly (www.swdc.org), a non-profit 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt community organization.
PAWS is also a participant in the District of Columbia Department of Parks & Recreation's Park Partner program.
